The Epistle of Romans.  The Epistle of James, no doubt, is the most practical book in the New Testament.  It is rightly considered the Proverbs of the New Testament.  The epistle of James was likely the first New Testament book written.  The emphasis is faith that is practical.

James does not teach salvation by faith and works;  he teaches faith that does work.  The key verse of James is chapter one verse seventeen.  Our very existence hinges on the reality and reliability of that powerful verse.  Like Proverbs... the emphasis of James is wisdom... it is the principal thing.
