Who is the Antichrist?   The Antichrist will be the world's political dictator of  the last days.  He will be a gentile who will arise out of and rule over the revived Roman empire. The Scripture declares ...and power was given him over all kindred, and tongues, and nations... Rev. 13:7.. 

The Antichrist will be a man whom Satan will fill to such an extent that he will be Satan incarnate. This is why Paul calls him the man of sin and the son of perdition. 2 Thess. 2:3 

The chief religious figure in the world during the Great Tribulation years is identified in Scripture as the False Prophet. He will be influential in religious affairs, empowered by Satan, having authority delegated to him as he promotes the worship of the Antichrist. 

The authenticity of his ministry will be demonstrated by signs and wonders, successfully deceiving the unbelieving world. He will promote idolatrous worship and possess the power of death. He will possess authority over commerce, and having an identifying physical mark.   He will be so successful that even the nation Israel will embrace the Antichrist.  

Israel is a secular nation.  She is not looking for a messiah... She is looking for peace and is willing to compromise to obtain peace.  The Antichrist will deceptively offer Israel and the world a peace that is false.  Israel as a secular nation possesses no spiritual discernment and will eagerly embrace the Antichrist and the promise of peace (Revelation 6:2; Daniel 8:25; 9:27).

  • The Antichrist Revealed - When?

​While you and I live in a time of the spirit of Antichrist, and many false prophets; the Tribulation saints will know specifically who both individuals are. Their solid defense against the False Prophet and the Antichrist will be the Word of God. They will be sound in the fundamental doctrines of the Bible. Even today, Christians are at their best only when relying upon sound Bible doctrine. 

The second beast of Revelation (Rev. 13:11-18), is a person who will manifest himself shortly before the second coming of Christ.  He will be an impressive miracle worker and during the  Tribulation period, he will bring fire down from heaven and with commanding abilities, will persuade the masses to worship the image of the Beast (Rev. 11:15; 13:16-17). 

Jesus gave telling words about false prophets in Matt. 24:24, warning that in the last days many false prophets would arise and deceive, if possible, even the elect. False prophets with their mastery use of false doctrine easily influence people away from the biblical mandate of God's Word, namely, the gospel of Jesus Christ. 

Examples of modern day false prophets are Joseph Smith (Mormonism), Charles Taze Russell (Jehovah's Witnesses), Mary Baker Eddy (Christian Science), the Pope, (Roman Catholicism), etc. Each of them foster a false gospel sufficient to cause damnation.
