Hymn History:  I Surrender All.   

​Van De Venter was involved in his church through counseling and personal work when his friends urged him to give up teaching and become an evangelist. 


For  five  years  he  wavered  in his  decision. 

He wrote:   "At last the pivotal hour of my life

came and I surrendered all.  A new day was

ushered into my life.  I became an evangelist

and discovered down deep in my soul a talent

hitherto unknown to me.   God  had  hidden  a

song in my heart, and a touching chord He caused me to sing songs I had never sung before."  Shortly after this time J. W. Van De Venter wrote the hymn,    "I Surrender All."

In His presence daily live.
